Hit n Run Happy Hour featured in The Other Paper

Author Written by jannypie on Monday, July 18, 2011 Date

The current issue of The Other Paper has an article covering the Hit & Run Happy Hour, a collaborative project regularly featuring members of Etsy Team Columbus.

The next Hit & Run is THIS Wednesday, July 20.

Each third Wednesday of the month, Colvin opens the studio to artists looking for a place to showcase their work. He then entices members of the public to drop in by plying them with free admission, appetizers, wine and beer.
ETC has been a part of the informal-style event from the beginning; we are excited about the growth and success of this very unique opportunity for both artists and the art community.

We are mighty lucky here in this group to have such a variety of talented and friendly people on our roster. Two of those fabulous folk are Shauna and Sue. We hope you'll join us as we wish them a wonderful celebration marking their births. In addition we are posting a pic from each of their online shops and perhaps you'll consider visiting them for your jewelry and hair accessory needs in the near future?

Columbus' art scene and JULY...both are too hot to handle!

Greetings artsy ones and artsy fans. We have a smattering of events to mention to our loyal followers and new friends alike...

If you don't have plans on Saturday, July 2nd, we HIGHLY reccomend you join ARTillery and Junctionview Studios at 889 Williams Ave. in Grandview from 7pm to ? as they celebrate our nation's birthday in their own unique and over the top style. Expect beer, barbecue, fireworks and live bands...oh and how could we forget "America-themed" art??? Sounds like a plan!

We are proud to promote one of ETC's very own artists, Kathryn Gorney of Arteest.etsy.com as she participates in the always-popular Dublin Art Fair later this month. Shop and explore over 85 artists representing all media. There will be live entertainment, food, refreshments, hands on art experiences, free admission and free parking! Dates and times are Fri 7/15 from 6 to 9pm, and Sat 7/16 from 10am to 8pm. Location: Bridge Street on the lawn of Sells Middle and Indian Run Elementary Schools. More info avail at www.dublinartfair.org

Have you visited the monthly to-do known as Hit & Run Happy hour yet? If not, you are truly missing out! This is a great way to spend two hours in the middle of your week. How does a spacious room with wood floors, windows and natural light, FREE refreshments, LIVE MUSIC and the LATEST creations from local area artists sound? Bring a pal, chat, network, zone out, relax. Consider having dinner across the street beforehand at the amazing Black Creek Bistro ($5 martinis and appetizers from 4 to 7pm). The setting is CS Gallery at 66 Parsons Ave in Old Towne East. The art on display is different each month, and often times the artists themselves are there socializing too... The idea is to get a quickie art fix, skip any intimidation or high pressure sales tactics and meet some interesting people. Stick around for 10 minutes or 2 hours, you'll be glad you did!

Finally, we want to share a pretty insightful article with all of you written by the always lovely and in-the-know Jen Sadler of the Greater Columbus Arts Council (and ETC too)...local art collectives as seen from their members on the inside... (and ETC's Karla Ross is also quoted halfway thru the write-up)

That's all for now pets and we hope you all stay cool in this heat...until next time...
